In between each vignette, you may have noticed there are introductory scrolls showing the title of the scene. The scrolls themselves are intended to be characters in the film, reinforcing the notion that this is a retelling of someone else’s story, not the story of the screen stars. They were constructed on Thanksgiving Day, 2008 on the wood floor of my brother’s living room. Six rolls of tape were used, and each roll stretches about 40 yards, or 120 feet.
