Hydrofracking New York: A Six-Part Series by Mike Varley

November 27th, 2011 by admin
Hello All,
.
I’ve recently completed work on a new short film series.  It’s called “Hydrofracking New York: From One New Yorker to Another,” a six episode project covering the controversial mining practice known formally as hydraulic fracturing.  In as early as two weeks from now, permits may be issued to allow gas companies to hydrofrack for natural gas in New York State, yet many people have barely heard of the process, let alone understand the impact fracking will have on the character and countryside of our state.  “Hydrofracking New York” examines both the concerns and proposed benefits of the process in the hopes that decisions for the future of New York will reflect the will of its citizens, not the will of industrial interests.

Without further adieu, “Hydrofracking New York: From One New Yorker to Another”:

  1. What a great project! Smock, an upstate NY stationery company, is also concerned about hydrofracking. They’re currently holding a sale, and 100% of proceeds will benefit Earthworks to help put an end to hydrofracking. Learn more here: http://ow.ly/7HwnV Sale ends 11/29/11.
