This Saturday will be the public debut of “Our Electric Tethers,” a mixed media canvas piece I’ve been working on since June of last year. \u00a0The work will be on display at the Crest Hardware Art Show and Festival June 18th from 1-7pm. \u00a0Crest is located at 558 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn, right off the Lorimer L train or Metropolitan G train stops. \u00a0This is the tenth year of the art show and fourth year of the corresponding festival, and the buzz has gotten bigger every year. \u00a0The event has been featured in both\u00a0Time Out New York<\/a> and the\u00a0New Yorker<\/a> as upcoming events in June. \u00a0Pasted below is the press release for your reading pleasure. \u00a0I should be there all day hanging out and volunteering my time. \u00a0I hope to see some of you there.<\/div>\n

\nJune 18, 2011: Crest Fest- 1:00PM to 7:00PM<\/p>\n

On June 18th, Crest Fest 2011 will act as the official launch party for the Crest Hardware Art Show (C.H.A.S.). As a means to give back to the community, Crest Fest is structured as a civic-minded, volunteer based event. Proceeds from Crest Fest 2011will benefit The City Reliquary Museum and Civic Organization. This year\u2019s program will include a live music stage, two DJ booths, local, creative art & food vendors and additional involvement from surrounding businesses and community organizations.
\nEstimated attendance throughout the day is 4000+. All ages are welcome. Time Out New York named Crest Fest one of the top \u201cCool Free Events\u201d of the summer.<\/p>\n

The group art show will include 100+ works from various artists of different mediums. The art will be installed contextually throughout 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including a 5,000 sq ft urban garden. Work will be on display from June 18th, 2011 until July 31st, 2011. All art is about\/made with\/or inspired by hardware.<\/p>\n

The vendor market that will take place at Crest Fest will give local artisans a chance to share their creative wares within their own community. From food to handmade crafts and artwork, there is certainly something for everyone.<\/p>\n

Live music performances by The Suzan, EMEFE, Gunfight! & Little Victory. DJ sets by FAT & EZ, Nick Catchdubs, Lucas Walters, Dom Rocket, Rok One, King Cut, Synapse, Peter Hale & Krunk Pony.<\/p>\n
